Disclaimer: I do believe that a majority of your nail products should be purchased from a reputable supplier. Although a lot of products or tools have a mark up of 1000%! Over the years I have learned where to spend the extra cash and where I can save a few bucks. Keep reading to find the nail supplies that I like to buy from Amazon.
This can be a preference. Some nail techs like to use steel pushers and sanitize them properly in between clients. I personally have found that the wood pushers work best for me. When I have a full clientele and am working back-to-back appointments, I don’t really have time to keep getting up and sanitizing my tools. Unless, you plan on buying several. But this could get costly as well. I will buy 100 wood cuticle pushers for roughly $8. And these will last me over a year easily. Also are great to use if you are mixing your own colors or playing with different nail art designs.
The reason I decided to start my website and dub it the Nail Lamp Tramp! I have tried them all. Believe me! $25 lamps all the way to $300 lamps. And honestly I have one now that I bought for $60 and have had it for three years no issues what so ever! Here are a few of my recommendations . All lamps are linked in the pictures.
Spray Bottles and Pumps:
These are wildly over priced if you are buying them from your supplier. I mean, you could probably even be buying these from the dollar store. There is no science here. You just need something that works.
I love to play around with these. So many styles and colors. I find that my clients love when I get a new one. They feel so soft and fluffy on the skin and are so pretty to look at. There is such a variety of styles and prices. Something for everyone. Over the years I have found when I tried to buy these from a supplier, they were boring. Just your generic clinical looking brush. No fun at all. I encourage you to play around with some of these fun brushes.
Since we are on the topic of brushes, what about the gel applicator brush? Again, I have bought these from suppliers in the past. But just didn’t find the bang for my buck was worth it. Gel brushes are risky. They cannot be left in the natural sunlight or the gel product will harden on the brush and ruin it. You cannot clean these brushes with isopropyl because they will frey at the ends and drive you crazy when trying to create a lovely level enhancement. So please don’t spend $20 on a brush that you will likely have to replace in a few months. Here are some great options that I have tried and love myself.
Nail Files (if I’m in a pinch):
I really do prefer to buy my nail files from a supplier. Usually I order mine from Arts Desire Beauty Pro. But, if I am in a pinch or they are sold out of my preferred file, I will most definitely buy them from amazon. They don’t seem to last quite as long as the professional files. But, I guess that is t be expected.
Table Lamp or Desk Lamp:
You will absolutely need one of these! Proper lighting can make or break a gel nail appointment. You need to be able to see all the areas of the nail. No shadows or this could lead to an improper application and lifting down the road. I also love having a good light to take nail pictures. Most recently have invested in a ring light to help me create great content and videos. Since reels and TikTok are such a good way to get eyeballs on our work, I think it is important to invest in a good light. Or two 😉
You will need a fresh clean towel for every client that you see. This means doing a load of laundry likely every other day. I think your towels should match your aesthetic. if at all possible. I also advise staying away from white towels. there will be spills and accidents on any given day and I just don find that they look as fresh for as long. I personally like to use gray, but you do you.
These are just a few of the nail supplies that I like to buy from amazon. I have found them to be very useful and save me hundreds of dollars in the process. If I can help you stretch a buck, especially nowadays, I’m here to help!
