Back in 2019 I was working full time from home doing nails in a little studio that I built in my basement. As much as I enjoyed the feeling of convenience and accomplishment that came with working from home, I was also looking for the next move. My next move, looked like teaching nail classes. I looked at a few spaces I could rent as a classroom and envisioned filling these rooms with five or more students and doing a mass teaching session. The ball was rolling and I was getting ready to pull the trigger, when our favorite pandemic struck!
So now classes weren’t possible. I wasn’t working at all, at that point and knew I had to pivot and adjust my original plan.
So One on One nail training was born! September 2020 I started training in a very covid friendly manner.
Gel Nail Training:
So what does gel nail training look like with me? I come to you. One day a week for three months I will come to your set up and start the process. We start by going over products that either you have purchased or I have sourced out for you. Getting comfortable and familiar with your equipment is vital.
Then we dive into gel polish. Covering the basics for the first few visits. Once we have mastered the gel polish we will start to work with hard gel overlay and building out nail extensions. This takes about a month to cover as shaping the nail is equally as important as building it. Now that we are about two months in, it is time for my student to start practicing on real people. Always practicing in between appointments. This is a good time to document your work and come to me with any struggles or questions you might be having.
Finally, we will cover the art of business building. How to acquire a great clientele and how to keep them coming back for more. We will also cover social media tips and what aps I like to use to edit and create fire content. Social media is always changing and evolving and we need to keep our finger on the pulse as a way to build our community.
You really want to think of the long term goal here. It isn’t just about having a few clients and calling it a day. I mean, unless that is what you want. But with all the online opportunities out there currently, I think it is vital to make you mark in the online space!
Finally, with your gel nail training we will go over all the fun stuff. Nail art! Nail art is also always changing and evolving and I love trying new techniques and sharing my knowledge. I remember being so nervous to try my first nail art. And now I love it! I want my students to feel just as comfortable expressing themselves. Especially when your client comes to you and says to do whatever you want! I think it is important to always have something fun up your sleeve.
I am currently working on making my gel nail training available online so I can reach more women entrepreneurs to help them build their own home based businesses. I want you to be able to stay home with your family and your pets! Build and make your own schedule. Have the freedom to go on a vacation and not be at the mercy of someone else. Make money for you! Not them!
Tempted yet? Please reach out if this feels like something you would like to explore. Or if you’ve hit a rut in your business and need a little push in the next direction, I am always open to having these fun and inspiring conversations!
As always, thank you so much for reading and following along. Your support and enthusiasm means everything to me and inspires me to inspire the uninspired!
Love you guys xoxo
