Gel nail polish – my favourites and where I buy them.
Let’s face it. There are a ton of gel nail polish companies out there. I have definitely tried a few. Probably close to 50!
I want to share with you my two favorite gel polish brands and where I purchased them. Let’s get started.
These little silver glass bottles are a nail technicians dream. A lightweight formula. Typically, full coverage with three coats, pretty common I find with most gel nail polish. Liquid vinyl, white tips, Range, Shine and Luxe are my particular fave when it comes to nail Art. The liquid consistency allows for precise line work. Very important with nail art. If gel polish is too thick, the artwork can become bulky and lose its shape.
If I had one critique, it would be their glitter gel’s. I find they aren’t full coverage enough for me. Most of my clients that go for sparkle, GO FOR IT! If you know what I mean?
Overall an amazing product. I will use Orly Gel FX for life. A huge variety of colors and a very reasonable price point. Usually around $17CA a bottle. Their full systems are quite amazing, from nail tip primer to topcoat.
Love love love!
Now to clarify, I prefer to use the LE hard gel colors in the pots instead of their gel nail polish. I find the pots to hold more pigment. As a hard gel they are super tough! Good for those clients that are very hard on their nails.
Where Orly Gel FX lacks, Light Elegance really takes the cake on this one. Sparkles! OMG! Bar none the greatest sparkle blends I have ever seen. Amazing coverage. And over 30 different varieties! You seriously cannot do glitter right without light elegance.
As far as price point, these are a little bit more expensive. About $24 a pot. But keep in mind, the strength and sparkle factor. #WorthIt
Where do I purchase my gel nail polish?
I used to order Orly Gel FX through my supplier called West Coast Beauty. But, recently they stopped carrying Orly so I have resorted to eBay and Amazon for my purchases. I have found a great seller with excellent reviews and I have had zero issues with quality or ordering.
So whether you are an aspiring and nail technician or one who has been in the game for years, you now know my two favorite gel nail polish brands. These two I highly recommend, again, for different reasons. But I am sure you will find the one or both that are right for you.
Please share your feedback in the comments below. Or if you have any questions about today’s topic I would love to hear from you!
Wishing you all the best on your nail journey.
