I had to sit down and start writing. I just had the craziest day. Where, most of my clients were hurting. All of them in different scenarios. But all of them had the same thing in common.
They are sad because they are settling. Sure, maybe in relationships, but more importantly, the are just settling with themselves. Like, “this is as good as it gets” mentality. I made my bed I might as well lay in it.
When on earth did we start forgetting how worthy we are?? We deserve happiness. We deserve to be treated with respect. At what point did we decide that it was OK for him to talk to us this way? Treat us this way? I’m sorry, but I believe that we set the standard and if they aren’t willing to meet it, then they need to shape up or piss off! That’s right. I’m passionate about this one.
I know you wouldn’t treat someone the way you’re being treated. So I am here to strongly encourage you to take a minute and reevaluate your self-worth. I know for a fact that you are strong. That you are beautiful. That you love with your whole heart. It breaks mine to think that you aren’t sticking up for yourself.
I encourage you to stand tall. Chin up! And be the example in your childrens life. In your peers life. In your partners life. You can do it. One small act of bravery at a time. Eventually you will start to believe it and so will others. I promise.
Please listen to the pull in your heart that is telling something isn’t right. You have the power to change it. You write your own story. We only get one chance at this crazy life and I know you want more for yourself.
My hope is that this reaches even one person. If I can encourage one person to make a change in their life that they deserve, maybe they can lift up someone else and so on.
I don’t know where I would be without my girls who constantly tell me how worthy I am. And I believe them! I am worthy. Worthy of respect, love and happiness!
AND GIRLFRIEND!!! So. Are. You!
Now go out there and be that boss bitch that I know you are! Demand respect. Make them work for it. You shape your beautiful life.
